About White River Country Club
White River Country Club, situated within the White River Country Estate, is one of the Lowveld’s most established sporting and leisure destinations. Founded in 1924, the Club has grown from a humble golf course into a vibrant venue for golf, tennis, padel, squash, cricket, and family recreation. With its scenic setting, inviting clubhouse, and strong sporting tradition, the Club continues to offer members and guests a place to connect, play, and enjoy the best of Lowveld living.
From its early beginnings as a golf club, White River Country Club has become a dynamic hub for recreation and relaxation. The Club’s facilities include two padel courts, tennis and squash courts, a cricket oval, snooker tables, petanque, and a swimming pool. The spacious hall hosts a variety of social gatherings, from the annual Captains’ Dinner and quiz nights to “Club Cabaret” performances and big-screen rugby evenings. In the cooler months, the fireplace and pub provide a welcoming space to share stories and enjoy the lively Club spirit.
Golf remains central to White River Country Club’s identity. The 18-hole parkland course, which celebrated its Centenary in 2024, offers a rewarding challenge for players of all skill levels. The par-3 5th “Signature Hole” crosses the White River and often echoes with the call of the resident fish eagle. The golfing section thrives with active Men’s, Ladies’, Juniors’, and social groups such as the “Tortoises” and “Tuesday School.” Resident professionals and coaches offer private and group lessons, fostering both new talent and lifelong enjoyment of the game.
